Bluff, UT to Globe, AZ (1/8 & 1/9/2017)

Leaving Bluff early in the morning, there was still lots of snow-covered red rock to enjoy, although much of it was hidden by fog or low clouds.  It was tempting to drive out of the way to see Monument Valley in a blanket of snow, something I've wanted to do for a long time.  Another option was to stop at Canyon de Chelly, which was very near my route.  However, I was ready to leave the ice and snow slush behind, so I kept driving.  Before long, there was less white stuff on the road and on the rock formations. It felt pretty good when the sun finally began to break through the clouds.

Arriving in Globe on a bright, sunny afternoon, I pulled into the Apache Gold Casino RV Park.  I've stayed here before and knew what to expect.  As with other casinos, the RV park is just a section of the paved parking lot with hook-ups added.  Along with decent WIFI, that meets my needs just fine.  It's a bonus that they offer a delicious buffet at a reasonable price, which I took advantage of three times in my four night stay.  Another thing I recalled from my previous stay here, they tend to have spectacular sunrises, which I experienced the next morning.
