While one of the easier passes to travel in the San Juan Mountains, Owl Creek Pass can be one of great beauty, especially when the wildflowers are in full bloom. It also has some memorable locations where popular movies were filmed, such as How The West Was Won and the original True Grit.
Starting near Ridgway, the view from the road includes Chimney Rock and Courthouse Mountain.
The jagged peaks of the Cimmaron Ridge dominate the skyline.
Near the northern end of the pass, Silver Jack Reservoir contains the three forks of the Cimmaron River
