Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Idaho - May 25, 2007 (Re-run)

Sawtooth NRA is an area in central Idaho that was set aside in 1972 to prevent further development, thereby preserving the land for recreational purposes.   Its 750,000 acres include four mountain ranges, hundreds of glacial lakes and numerous streams, making it an ideal year-round spot for hiking, backpacking, swimming, boating, rock climbing and horseback riding.  Headwaters of the Salmon River, known as the"River of No Return", as well as several other rivers, can be found here.  Numerous movies have been filmed in the NRA, notably Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider".
