I visited Pebble Beach several times over the years, mostly to play golf at Spyglass Hill or Pebble Beach Links. The last time I took the "17 Mile Drive" was 1979, so I knew there had been a few changes. One change is the number of golf courses, so many I couldn't tell which I was looking at at any point in time. It didn't matter, since they are all beautiful.
Another change is the homes, many new and more impressive than ever.
But the rocky shoreline changes so slowly, it always seems the same. And the wind seems to always be blowing hard.
And the Lone Cypress has been standing watch for more than 250 years, or so it is claimed.
