We don't hear much about Red Canyon, but one must pass through it on the way to Bryce Canyon. While it may suffer from comparison to nearby Bryce, it is a standout park in its own right, with colorful hoodoos and beautiful hiking trails.
As a national park, Bryce gets a lot more attention and visitors, but winter is a slow period. Due to its elevation (8000 feet plus), it receives significant snowfall. As a result, not all sections of the park are open, which limits road plowing. Still, the snow gives the place a different, but still beautiful appearance.
