Capitol Reef National Park, Part 2 - March 29, 2007 (Re-run)

After the snow stopped and the sun came out, we began to see the park in a more normal light.  The snow began to melt quickly, adding to the flow of the Fremont River, but patches would hang around  for the remainder of the day.  In the distance, we could see that the Henry Mountains had received much more than a dusting.

A new visitor arrived at our campground in the form of a Unimog camper.  Built on the Mercedes-Benz chassis of a  German military vehicle, this off-road behemoth had 48 inch tires and 24 gears...18 forward and 6 reverse...plus 4WD.  Equipped with a snorkel, it was capable of going through water five feet deep.
