Cascade, Idaho - May 30 thru June 1, 2007 (Re-run)

After leaving the beautiful Challis area, we drove through Stanley once again, and again we were struck by the awesome beauty of the Sawtooth Mountains.

As we passed through the tiny community of Lowman, population 42, we took in some of the hot springs the area is famous for.

Our destination, the town of Cascade, is a rural community of about 1000 residents that has become an outdoor mecca, particularly attracting the folks who live in Boise just 70 miles away.  Having mountains, lakes, rivers and hot springs, Cascade offers just about every form of outdoor recreation you can imagine all year round.  That goal was just coming to fruition in 2007 with a huge resort complex that was under construction.
