Capitol Reef National Park, Part 1 - March 26-29, 2007 (Re-run)

Capitol Reef has been a favorite park since that first brief visit in 1995.  There is so much to do there, from scenic drives, back country roads and hikes at all levels of difficulty and adventure.  Despite numerous visits, there are still things I have yet to do.

Arriving in early spring, we were thrilled to see the fruit orchards in bloom.  These trees were planted by Mormon settlers around 1905 when they established the small community they called Fruita.  Just a couple days later, we enjoyed a spring snow that created a winter wonderland.
