Glacier National Park, Montana, Part 5 - July 8-12, 2007 (Re-run)

Having a park named after the glaciers that shaped it over many eons is a risky proposition when "experts" are always predicting the glaciers are disappearing.  Glaciers in the park were melting so rapidly back in the 1920s, it was predicted they would all disappear by 1948.  That didn't happen, thankfully, and many of the park's glaciers have grown significantly since then.  Of course, it may eventually happen, unless we enter a new ice age, but the name will always be appropriate to recognize the phenomenon that created this special landscape.
