Being on an island, Anacortes is a major boating community with a downtown marina. The Washington Ferry System services the island, offering transport through the San Juan Islands and to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We took the ferry to Vancouver Island in order to visit the charming city of Victoria, the Provincial Capital. There we saw the Parliament complex, the famous Empress Hotel, the downtown marina and had an authentic Chinese lunch in Chinatown.
